On Friday, June 18, 2021, teams from across Pitt County gathered in the Town Commons to construct sculptures made from nonperishable canned or boxed foods and other basic need items. Under the hot North Carolina sun, 7 teams CANstructed sculptures using 3,984 items!
All food and basic need items from the sculptures filled the Food Bank of Central and Eastern NC truck and will go towards helping people in our Pitt County communities who are food insecure.
3,984 items weighing 4,762 lbs = 3,968 MEALS for our neighbors in Pitt County!

BEST IN SHOW AWARD
Judges selected the Best in Show based on the most creative use of items, presentation, and uniqueness of sculpture.
COMMUNITY CHOICE AWARD
Spectators cast their ballots for their favorite sculpture.
Best in Show and Community Choice Awards were presented to
Team Greenville Utilities Commission led by Captain Amanda Wall.
SMALL AND MIGHTY AWARD
Judges selected the best sculpture CANstructed by a small business or organization with fewer than 99 employees.
The award went to Team Housing Authority of Greenville, NC led by Captain Aisha Barrow Holton!
MOST ON BRAND AWARD
A sculpture was selected most on brand based on how well a sculpture matches with each company's branding, products, or services, and the judges combined scores.
The award was presented to The Junior League of Greenville, NC led by Captain Emma Dodson!
MOST NUTRITIOUS AWARD
The winning team in this category was determined by nutritionists who judged sculptures based on sodium and sugar counts, organic products, etc.
The Most Nutritious Award was presented to ECU School of Communications led by Captain Barbara Bullington!
