Born Learning Trails

The Born Learning Trail was created by United Way Worldwide to promote physical activity and early learning opportunities for young children. These trails were developed by early childhood experts and consist of ten interactive outdoor play stations that encourage parents, caregivers, and their children to be active, have fun, and bond.

Born Learning Trails support early learning for children by using everyday opportunities as teachable moments that turn any outdoor environment into fun physical activities.

For example, the Born Learning Trail at River Park North, sponsored by Grady-White Boats, includes a wildlife garden, music wall, stump jump, and activities such as fort making and fossil digging. United Way of Pitt County has multiple Born Learning Trails located throughout Pitt County.
