United Way of Pitt County is now accepting Requests for Proposals for the 2009-2011 funding cycle. Nonprofit and other exempt organizations and programs supporting health and human service work based in Pitt County are invited to apply for funding to support programs in one of the following focus areas:

• Building a Safe and Healthy Community
• Caring for Neighbors in Crisis
• Fostering Financial Stability Leading to Independence
• Preparing Children and Youth for Life Success

The grant period is for April 1, 2009 - March 31, 2011. Applicants have until January 30, 2009 to complete the proposal. Funds will be awarded through a competitive grant process.
