United Way of Pitt County - Excited About New Volunteer Leaders
United Way of Pitt County (UWPC) relies heavily on volunteer support to sustain its efforts throughout the year. From the Board of Trustees to the Vision Councils, leadership is key to the continuing efforts of each committee or council. UWPC is pleased to announce new volunteer leaders for both the Community Action Plan Cabinet and the Campaign Cabinet.
Linda Hofler, of Pitt County Memorial Hospital and Brian Miller, of Pitt Community College have agreed to co-chair the Community Action Plan Cabinet. The Community Action Plan Cabinet provides strategic and operational leadership to actively guide the United Way's efforts to identify and achieve key strategies, results and positive impact on the community's most critical health and human service needs as identified in the Community Action Plan Agenda. "I believe that the Community Action Plan focus will help create lasting change in our community," said Linda Hofler, when asked why she volunteered to step into this leadership role. Brian Miller added to that by saying, "I really believe that the Community Action Plan will enable us to strengthen our current partnerships and create new ones." Both Linda and Brian have served as members of the Community Action Plan Cabinet since March 2007, and Linda currently serves on the UWPC Board of Trustees.
Katie Strickland, of Southern Bank, has also assumed a new leadership role within UWPC. She has stepped into the role of Campaign Chair for the 2008 Community Campaign and will be the lead volunteer for the Campaign Cabinet. The Campaign Cabinet provides volunteer support and leadership throughout the 2008 Community Campaign. Katie is a current member of the UWPC Board of Trustees and Executive Allocations Committee and has previously served as the Commercial Division Chair and the Small Business Chair for the Campaign Cabinet. "Katie is an excellent volunteer and has many great relationships that will serve her well as Campaign Chair," said Lindsey Brown, Director of Development and Marketing at UWPC. "I look forward to all that will be accomplished with her at the lead of our Community Campaign."
